Ku pelajar Malaysia, Ku penuntut di negara yang Merdeka, Ku mahu berjiwa merdeka, bebas berfikir, dan bersuara bila teruja,

Aspirasi kerajaan bukan aspirasiku
Aspirasiku jauh lebih sempurna Aspirasiku bukan untuk membodek Aspirasiku menjadi ahli Malaysia yang berguna yang memimpin negara keluar dari kegelapan
Bukan untuk terus tidur dalam kejahilan!

While deciding on my car purchase plans, I realised that I need to have proper financial planning that gives me an idea about what car I can afford.
While planning my finances for the next 10 years, most probably as a government servant, it was inevitable that I plan for other things too like buying a house, marriage budget, sister's education, entertainment, car loan repayment, parents' fund, postgraduate exams, etc.
Wow! Though I preach in church that we should not succumb to the love of money, I was really tempted to give in to monetary greed while planning out my budget. But then I realised that the need for more money only arise because of my wish to have a property by 32 and to drive a considerably good, "high-end" car.
Why such worldly aspirations? Need to remind myself to live below my means, and be contented.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM is not merely making MONEY works for you, it is primarily about LOOKING BEYOND THE GREATNESS OF money.
Dear friends, I am an auto newbie. Will start earning in 6 months time. I was thinking of buying a 2nd hand car in order to save for other concerns. So, my budget was below RM 20,000. I had a wild thought to buy a below 10K car that can last me for 10 years so that by that time, I would have saved enough for a better car. Please help me answer these newbie questions-
1) Is 2nd hand car is a good idea to save money? 2) If I was offered a 1.3L Wira, 2001 for RM 26K, is it a good deal? 3) Can a below 10K car like a 87 Proton Saga can last as long as 10 years without major problems? 4) Is it true that a 1.3L Wira would not be powerful enough or wasting fuel?

On the 16th of September, 1963 - Malaya combined with Sabah and Sarawak to form Malaysia. Being a student in a public university, I have the privilege to make friends with a number of Sabahans and Sarawakians.
They are probably some of the best kind of Malaysians around. The UMNO-putras have a lot to learn from them about being humble and tolerant Malaysians.
I therefore see the fight to restore the autonomy of the universities and to help bring back free spirit of inquiry as the most fundamental struggle of campus/student politics right now.
I am sure other issues are important too – more buses on campus, to refuse to wear or not to wear the tie or the batik, to allow or not to allow Mawi or Siti Nurhaliza on campus, or to reduce the number of students in those university foundation classes. I am sure these issues are close to the experiences of the student.
However, I think the greatest war, or the perang agong, or the mahabharatta, or the mother of all battles, still remains the struggle against the systematic stupefication of the minds of the inhabitants of our campuses.
Here are what Malaysian students need to fight for:
* To stop the harassment of students.
* To discard the requirement of pledging to the Akujanji.
* To create/rejuvenate the culture of intellectualism.
* To improve university classroom teachings so that students' critical and problem-solving skills can be improved.
* To create a sustainable culture of 'higher-order' thinking skills.
* To give uncompromising autonomy to university lecturers to think, act, and profess freely the belief they hold in their professional fields without them being harassed, intimidated, demanded 'show-cause letters' or even fired for asking questions.
* To replace university administrators that are merely interested in pushing his/her own personal political agenda by using the university resources.
* To ask for the resignation of the higher education minister; one who is interested in promoting a culture that is destroying the intellectual foundation of the university and one who refuses to act upon blatant injustices subjected to students and lecturers.
* To call for the abolishing of the repressive Internal Security Act and replace it with an Intellectual Sustainability Act.
The cheating business for campus elections has started. In a premier local university, at least one residential college principal had held dialogues with final year students with the purpose to ask them to vote for the government-inclined candidates. More recently, it was rumoured that a flash campus elections would be held sometime in a week's time, probably to give no time for the opposition to act.
Cemerlang, Gemilang, Terbilang with a difference? Cheaters aside, I am proud to bring to your attention a new noteworthy blog effort - 3lang. This is a blog by bright students who manage to stand tall despite the threats, dirt and lies. Their mission:- "We are committed to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly before God in our campus. Therefore, we will open our mouths for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute, and will judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Only then, our campus can be cemerlang, gemilang and terbilang."
Pada suatu malam, tiga kawan saya telah menghadiri suatu forum - "Malaysian Higher Education in Crisis".

Dr Tan Seng Giaw: We do not need a police permit because this is held indoors, in a private area, with a small crowd. But there are 2 Special Branch people sitting behind there.
NYP: (surprised & worried) Err...so it would not be surprising that the dean would find out about us attending this.
Dr Tan: Yeah, yeah, the Dean will find out about this very soon. THey have a system to monitor all this. The country needs people like the SB people to monitor activities around this country. NYP & PHC: (speechless)......
