Esok nanti

ku mungkin dibawa pergi
kau mungkin dipaksa mari

lebihan masa tidak tercuri
peluang tak menjadi-jadi

ku terpaksa pergi
kau terpaksa tinggal disini

ruang kosong walaupun sunyi
lebih jelas fikiran didalami

Mungkin bersama sekali lagi
esok nanti

bersama terbitnya matahari
harapan doa permintaan ini

mungkin bermula sekali lagi
esok nanti

Sementara kita menanti
sama-samalah melayari
mengharungi
sungai deras tajam duri

supaya kita pasti
akan pilihan ini
esok nanti

Poong and I

It just dawned on me that Poong and I will finally go separate ways after being together in the Malaysian education system for the past 2019 years. We attended the same kindergarten class, the same primary school class (Darjah 1R to 6R), the same secondary school class (Form 1S to Form 5S, then Form 6AA) and now the MBBS class of 2001/2006 in UM.

Poong is a friend, though we quarreled like husband-and-wife during the secondary school days, and probably even had backstabbed each other, at the end of the day, Poong is still a friend I can store secrets in, although his news broadcasting abilities is well known, haha.

Well, we are not applying to work in the same place, so unless Dr. Chua Soi Lek decides to be 'funny', it would be the end of 20 years being together. Well, no tears would be shed, but indeed, it will be the end of a partnership/friendship that I would gladly say did not break because of tolerance and looking beyond each other's mistakes. The picture above of two sumo wrestlers probably described us the best.

To the rest of my gang in the block, please don't vomit! (laughing out loud)

A 30-year-old motorcyclist was wheeled into your resus hall with multiple injuries, blood pressure of 90/60 and heart rate of 130 bpm. What is your initial management?

I wonder how many times I would go through similar cycles of such events as a servant of the Health Ministry.

Very, very restless now. Can't wait to graduate.

Pray for me, dear friends.

Tony, my partner in youth class, and my mentor in teaching, shared this wonderful Valentine's thoughts:

"The best gift a father can give to his children is to love their mother."

In a world that no longer honours marriage and relationships the way it should, this thought is powerful and should start parents to start looking to each other again.

Thank you, Tony!

Happy Valentine's Day, to all my ikan bakar fellows. I love you all.
